The Cub is sad to say goodbye to writer and friend Carter Kenny. Carter has written multiple articles for the Cub and has been a beloved member of the Cub staff for 2 years.
Carter has always been an avid writer ever since the summer of 2021, “I’ve always been into writing, I started writing the summer of 2021 because I had to take the bus around Boyertown a lot and during that time I would just write on the bus,” Carter then joined the journalism class in his 10th grade year, “I wanted to join journalism in 9th grade, but I didn’t get in, then I tried again in 10th grade, and that’s how I ended up writing for the Cub.”
Carter joined the Accent club in his freshman year. “I’ve always been into fiction writing, and it’s what got me into writing in the first place, so when I saw that the school had a creative writing club, I was very excited to finally share my work.”
Outside of writing Carter is also a big music fan, mainly listening to rock and metal music. “I love music. Music is the other big thing in my life. I review it, I talk about it for a long time, and it’s always been a part of my life.” His favorite album of all time is Meteora by Linkin Park.

Carter is going to Kutztown University and is majoring in journalism with a minor in creative writing. As of writing this, Carter has already been accepted into Kutztown University.
The thing Carter will miss the most about high school is the sense of community, “The thing I will miss the most when I graduate is the sense of community in high school because you can just ask your friend to see if they want to go to Carmello’s after school and it won’t feel the same when I graduate.”
The teacher Carter will miss the most when he graduates is Ms. Heath, “Her class was always interesting and fun, even if the subject wasn’t something I wanted to learn, she made it interesting by just being a fun teacher. I also always had a great time talking to her whenever I got the opportunity, too.”
Carter’s advice for the students of BASH and students coming to BASH is, “Never take a single day for granted, not every day will be amazing, but there will always be a reason to be positive. High School doesn’t last forever so make the most of the limited time you have with in.”
