Final season is stressful, but knowing when they take place can help ease the pressure.
SENIOR FINALS

Seniors’ finals are all from May 26th, 2026, to May 28th, 2026. During this time, they will have irregular schedules to follow, so it is important for them to stay informed.
May 26th, seniors will report to the Cafe for their first session of finals, which takes place from 8-9:45 AM. In this session, they will be completing their Science finals. After this, seniors will follow their normal schedule, completing finals for related studies classes during that period. This is for all other classes except for world languages.
May 27th, seniors will have 2 sessions. The first will have the same time frame as the 26th, 8-9:45, and will hold all math finals, also in the cafe. Then, after this first session is over, at 10 AM, the second session will begin. Seniors will have from 10-11:45 AM to complete their Social Studies final in room 512. Only about 8 students will be in the room, as most social studies courses are using a project as the final. After this, seniors may leave the building.
May 28th, during the first session, occurring during the same time period, seniors will have their English finals in the Cafe. Laptop collection and world language finals will take place during session 2. World Language finals will take place in the LGI, while laptop collection happens in the FAUD. More information on laptop collection can be found in the Week In Review.
9TH-11TH GRADE FINALS
On May 28th and 29th, 2026, related studies will be hosting finals during designated class periods in student schedules. No other major tests or quizzes may be given during these days.
On June 2nd, 2026, Social Studies and Literature finals will be held in the given locations. Teachers should give the locations before the testing dates. Session one, from 8-9:45 AM, will have Social Studies testing. The second session will hold Literature finals, spanning from 10-11:45 AM.
On June 3rd, 2026, Math and Science finals will occur, following the same 2-session schedule seen previously. June 4th, 2026, will host make-up sessions in the library.
Students who took AP exams and/or any keystones will not need to take a final for the class and are not required to show up for that session. No absences will be excused during these days unless it is with an approved doctor’s note.
Students are welcome to leave after their testing is finished; however, students will need to provide their own transportation.
Any further questions can be asked to Mrs. Cornes or other grade-level counselors.
STUDY AND PREPARATION
All students have different preferences when it comes to studying and preparation, but there are some basic guidelines to follow, some of which have been given by Mrs. Mazzie, a counselor here at BASH.
Reviewing class notes, study guides, and previous assignments regularly, rather than cramming the night before, allows students’ brains to fully process and recall information, as occasionally it is needed to relearn the information.
Create a study schedule to break the material down into manageable chunks, limiting distractions but allowing breaks when necessary. Running on low for too long can make studying less effective or potentially not effective at all.
One of the most important things to remember is to make sure to get a good night’s sleep before and eat a good breakfast in the morning, so students are prepared to take their exams.
Modifications can be made to any of these suggestions, such as seeing how long a conversation can be kept going about a specific topic with a friend or family member, and noting down anything students don’t remember or understand.
Everyone has their own preferences and learning styles, and everyone just needs to find what works best for them.
