The BASH student section of 2021 is having a good turn out this football season. From seniors to freshman, students from each grade have come to show support for their bears. Kati Kochen, a Junior at Boyertown, stated that she “enjoys seeing all the students come together after being unable to have a big student section due to Covid-19.”

The first game for the Bears was away at Upper Perkiomen. Many students showed up to the away game.  Cade Hovey, a Senior at Boyertown, stated that “The Bears student section seemed as big or even bigger than the student section that the Upper Perkiomen students had. “

Every football game there’s a new theme to dress up for. At the Upper Perkiomen game, the theme was white out. At the Exeter game, the theme was USA, meaning students dressed up in the most red white and blue possible, and some even brought the American flag. At the game against Pottsgrove, students wore neon. Kyra Seyler, a Senior at Boyertown, was given the opportunity to pick the theme against Pottsgrove. She stated, “I felt like neon would be the perfect theme because I knew we could get a big crowd for the game and I also wanted us to stand out. Some people didn’t agree with the theme, but once we all came together it turned out really cool and it was a lot of fun.”

At the latest game on  September 24th, the theme for the Bears home game against Owen J Roberts was gold out. This theme was a special one, since it is BASH students showing support for childhood cancer. According to an email sent to the senior high staff from Jeff Kusinez, during the Miracle Minute at the game, $1050.02 was donated to fight the battle against childhood cancer.

More and more students are coming out with every game that Boyertown has, so feel free to show your support for the Bears by coming out to the games!
