On Friday, November 22nd, 2024, Boyertown Area Senior High’s drama club will debut it’s yearly fall play, “Alice in Wonderland.” The play will be held in BASH’s freshmen’s auditorium, at 7pm. The following Saturday will have a showing at 7pm, along with a 2pm play on the following Sunday.
Tickets will be on sale at the door for 10 dollars each. Make sure to bring cash, they don’t accept card. It is also advised to arrive 30 minutes early, so you can get the best seats possible.
Mrs. Haley is the Director of the drama club, in charge of putting on two plays a year, one in the fall and on in the spring.
It would be greatly appreciated if people came to watch the play, as students work very hard to prepare for the plays.
One of the students who is the Co-director and plays the executioner in Alice in Wonderland, Alyssa Hadfield has especially put in a lot of work into this play. She keeps everyone on track, and helps people to memorize their lines, do stunts, and overall helps everyone to feel happy and comfortable.
Eva Schiel, a sophomore at BASH, plays the “Duchess’s Cook” in the play. She said that the play “follows Alice through Wonderland and all the people she meets.” Eva enjoys being a part of drama club, saying “I joined drama club because I love theater and everyone in drama club [is] very fun to be around. Since joining, I have seen a change in social life since everyone in drama club is very inviting, so I hang out with a lot more people.”
When talking about reversal in preparation for “Alice in Wonderland,” Eva said, “The process of rehearsal has been busy, but very worthwhile. Everyone in the cast puts in their work so we can have some good laughs while rehearsing.”
There’s so much that happens behind the scenes of the school play, and BASH welcomes anyone who would like to come in November! Mrs. Haley, Alyson Hadfield, and everyone from the Alice in Wonderland play hopes to see you there!
