BASH hosted it’s yearly senior sunrise Friday morning. BASH’s seniors arrived early on the morning of September 6th for the yearly senior sunrise. Students brought blankets and were provided with hot chocolate and breakfast burritos.
Due to the clouds covering the whole sky, nobody saw much of the sunrise, however, seniors still had a blast. Yeshaya Brewster, a senior at BASH, said, “It was slightly underwhelming as the actual sunrise was very subtle and not dramatic, but it was still a great time!”
Later in the day the districts official Instagram account, @boyertownasd_, posted a plethora of photos, with the caption, “”Just because the sun isn’t shinning doesn’t mean their future isn’t bright!” Senior Sunrise for the Class of 2025 was a great way to start a Friday. Lots of great kids, breakfast treats and hot chocolate, great music, friendship, and NO RAIN!”
Yeshaya added that, “It was really awesome watching it with friends. It was cool just lying in the grass together and talking about how crazy it is that we’re actually seniors this year and reminiscing.”
This has been a tradition at BASH for many years now, but it’s also a tradition of schools all across the country. According to the Wild Cat Chronicle, “The senior sunrise is a tradition that was started over a decade ago and is celebrated across the United States at many different schools. This tradition is either hosted at the beginning of the year to start their final year together or at the end of the school year to cherish all the memories they shared.”
To BASH’s juniors and underclassmen, Yeshaya highly recommends attending if you have the opportunity, “Even if the sunrise isn’t perfect, it’s still a great way to do something fun with your friends and to make long lasting memories for your last year of high school.”
And to our Seniors we are wishing you the best going forward!
