Valentines Day this year will fall on a Monday, and in regards to all the people in celebration of the holiday; isn’t great. Mondays aren’t always the greatest day to celebrate a non federal holiday, but nevertheless here are some ways to celebrate national singles awareness day!

Local fun this Valentine’s Day is abundant. From train rides to arts and crafts, there is amusement for couples and singles alike.

BASH offers many Valentine’s Day activities. The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is hosting a rose sale. The sale will be held from February 7-11 in the cafeteria. Roses are one dollar each, $5 for 6 roses, or $10 per dozen. All roses will be delivered to homerooms on Valentine’s Day.

BASH-TV News is continuing their tradition of producing a Valentine’s Day photo montage. Email of photo with a significant other or a best friend to [email protected] to be included.

Student Council has begun “Operation Heart.” Students should check their emails for more information. English teachers around the building will guide students during a short period of time in English classes. The deadline for students to submit their responses is Monday, February 14, and submissions can be entered through this link

Boyertown’s own Colebrookdale Railroad offers a Romance on the Rails train ride. All rides depart at 6:00 pm. Friday, February 4, is the earliest ride. The entire calendar can be found on their website. The railroad offers a multitude of seating options. If dinner on the train sounds appetizing, the Dining and Garden Cafe cars offer just that. The Dining Car is described as “a rolling Edwardian party.” According to PBS, “The ‘Edwardian’ style broadly encompasses the years of 1901 through to 1919.” Dinner will be served in a high class, white-glove style, though attendees are welcome to wear what they feel is suitable. The dinner menu is available upon purchasing tickets, the drinks and snack menu is available here

Who doesn’t love pizza? The best way to start out this Valentine’s day is to order a heart shaped pizza. Plenty of local pizza restaurants/chains are selling these festive pies this year, such as Papa Johns and Pizza Hut starting at just $11 on February 11.

Honing a specific ability is also a great way to enjoy this holiday. Painting with a Twist in Allentown shares the opportunity to create a couples painting. Dates range from Saturday, February 5, to Monday, February 14.

Try to make it a point to see the new romantic themed movies coming out to theaters. The most popular this year, Marry Me, depicts when superstar, Jenifer Lopez, finds out her fiance, Maluna, is cheating on her and she has a breakdown on stage causing her to marry a stranger in the crowd, Owen Wilson, on the spot. This movie comes out February 11, just in time for your Valentine’s Day week!

After all things considered, no matter if you are spending Valentine’s Day alone, with a significant other, family, or with your friends Valentines can be all inclusive, therefore the best way to celebrate this day is to make lasting memories.
