The Cub is sad to say goodbye to a longtime writer and editor, Ethan Millard. Ethan has written over 40 articles for the Cub and is a member beloved by all Cub staff.
Ethan has taken the Journalism elective for all four of his years as a student at BASH and has been a member of the Cub for one year. He is also involved in the Accent, a creative writing club at BASH. Ethan writes for the Cub because he likes that he is free to write what he wants, and he likes the job aspect of it. “It really feels more than just ‘you fill out this assignment,’ and it was also very nice to get to talk to people and tell their story.” “I have also seen a tangible increase in the quality of my writing since I have joined Cub.”
After high school Ethan plans on going to college at The Pennsylvania State University and majoring in Geobiology to become a Paleontologist. “I never really got out of the dinosaur phase as a kid,” Ethan

explained. “I find science endlessly fascinating, and the way that they used to function and getting to learn about all of the different species.”
When Ethan was very young he received a copy of National Geographics Ultimate Dino-Pedia. “I was really young so I didn’t really read it, I just looked at the pictures. I remember my favorite Dinosaur was the Mapusaurus because it was listed as the largest carnivore in the whole book.”
Over the summer in between his junior and senior year, Ethan went on an environmental summit at George Mason University in Washington DC. “It was different,” said Ethan, “you went to George Mason University, you stayed in a dorm and bunked there for a week. We got to learn all about different environmental problems and how people are dealing with them. Not only did we learn about the scientific aspect of it, we also learned about the political aspect of it.”
Ethan’s advice to any current or future students at BASH is, “Take as many higher level classes as you possibly can. It is so helpful in the long run.” During his time here at BASH, Ethan has taken AP Environmental Science and DE College Algebra. Additionally, Ethan has taken a plethora of honors classes involving science, history, and math.
The Cub staff is sad to see one of our beloved writers and friend go. We are wishing Ethan the best in all of his future endeavors.
