As the 2024-2025 school year comes to a close, the Cub officially says goodbye to Yeshaya Brewster, a one year correspondent and journalism I student. Throughout his had BASH, Yeshaya has been involved with the Cub, NJROTC, Key Club, and the Dungeons and Dragon Club (DND).
Yeshaya having been a Boyertown Area School district resident from the beginning, attending both Earl Elementary and Middle School West. Upon his arrival to BASH, Yeshaya said he was nervous about the transition, not being super certain on what he wanted to do after graduating or what groups he wanted to join.
For Yeshaya, joining the Cub was a fairly last minute decision, becoming apart of the Cub homeroom for his final year after being inspired by his mother who earned a degree in journalism. When speaking about his decision to join the Cub, Yeshaya said that his mother’s degree was what inspired him to join.
When Yeshaya was asked about his favorite teacher he said it was Mr. Farnsworth. He enjoyed having Mr. Farnsworth as a teacher because he was inspired to become a history teacher based on his class. Additionally, he also really likes Mrs. Fetzer because “she made physics very fun and easy to understand.” Yeshaya said that “the labs and the roller coaster project was very interesting, it’s like solving a puzzle.” These BASH teachers inspired and motivated Yeshaya to become the person he is today.
When asked if he had any advice for underclassmen or incoming freshman he said to “Get involved in stuff, even if it seems uncomfortable at the start it’ll be worth it, because you get to meet so many people and make some great friends.”
Yeshaya also sighted his Sophomore year gym class as one of his favorites classes from his time in BASH, due to sharing the class with a lot of friends it led to the class being a ton of fun.
After graduating from BASH Yeshaya plans on attending Montco Community college for two years before transferring to another school to get his teaching degree, which he plans on using to become a history teacher.
While the Cub is sad to say goodbye to Yeshaya, we’re excited to see all the great things he’ll accomplish in the future!
