Even though today he is teaching 9th grade Modern America and 11th grade Economics, Mr. Zezenski was initially interested in being an English teacher. He stated that he loves writing and journalism, especially modern English works. However, thanks to a good advisor he had in college, he realized that he would feel much better teaching social studies instead of English after all.
When asked why he wanted to be a teacher, Mr. Zezenski said he wanted to “be the person [he] needed when…growing up.” Along with that desire, he expressed that his own kids were his biggest motivator to continue his education and become a teacher here at BASH. As of right now Mr. Zezenski is very happy to be a teacher and is excited to continue moving forward in this profession.
“I actually grew up in Reading. We moved to Muhlenberg when I was in high school, that’s where I ended up graduating at least.” “Then we moved to Wyomissing and that’s where we are now.” When asked, Mr. Zezenski said that he “found Boyertown as a really good community as a whole. The teachers all seem like they’re on the same page and are supportive of each other. The students have [also] been great so far.” He emphasized that Boyertown seems to be a great community and even admitted that Boyertown is one of his favorite districts so far.
Mr. Zezenski spends his free time “hanging out with the kids, golfing, watching movies, going to concerts, hiking, and camping.” At home he takes care of his 4 kids, 2 pit bulls, 3 cats, and 2 goldfish, “there’s always a lot going on in the house; sometimes coming here is quieter if you can believe it.”
We are happy to have Mr. Zezenski here at BASH and wish him all the best during his first year!
