Mrs. Evans has been an assistant principal here at BASH since 2018. Earlier in the school year, Mrs. Evans was promoted to head principal. Mr. Sparks and Dr. Bergey supported her unconditionally during her time at BASH, and Sparks has been by her side since the beginning.
Mrs. Evans wasn’t always a principal; she first started as an English teacher. She also taught a Greek mythology class. After that, she became an AD. She soon realized that she wanted more of a leadership role; she stated, “I’ve always had those leadership qualities.” She then went to college to pursue her dream of getting her desired lead role.
Mrs. Evans will now be going to Northeastern High School to be closer to her daughter, who’s in 10th grade, and her son, who’s in 6th. She previously had to drive over an hour to get to BASH each day, and it became straining for her not to be there to see her kids’ sports games or activities they were participating in.
Most of all, Mrs. Evans cherishes the relationships she has made with the students and staff here at BASH. Mrs. Evans said she will miss her secretary, Mrs. Rossman. Mrs. Rossman sets up meetings for Mrs. Evans, helps with her schedule, and contacts people for Mrs. Evans.
Change is hard, and the hardest part about leaving BASH, according to Mrs. Evans, is creating those bonds again. Students and staff here at BASH wish Mrs. Evans the best in all her future endeavors.
