Baseball Back at it Again
The Bears won a close game against Upper Perkiomen 2-1 in ten innings Monday. The game needed extra innings after scoring came to a standstill in the second.
At the plate, Boyertown didn’t have much success against Upper Perk’s pitching staff. The Bears had eight hits, but left eleven base runners stranded. The winning run came home on a clutch hit from Ryan Jacobs in the 10th inning.
Boyertown pitchers shut down the Indians, combining for eight strikeouts and six hits. Relief pitcher Pat Hohlfeld closed the deal for the Bears. Hohlfeld pitched 3.2 innings, giving up a hit and throwing three strikeouts.
The Bears’ next game will be away against Methacton (6-5) at 4:00 on Wednesday.
