Wrestling Team Places 4th at States
BASH’s wrestling team, strong for several years now, placed fourth place in the state wrestling championships in Hershey this past weekend.
“Boyertown sent five wrestlers to Hershey, and all five returned with hardware,” said Coach Pete Ventresca.
BASH sent five of its top wrestlers to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association competition, and all five of them placed highly and won medals. This is a record not only for Boyertown, but ties the most medalists ever by a single team in District One history.
Junior Jordan Wood won his first state title, after placing second in his weight class the past two years running at states and completing a 20-0 regular season record.
The other placers were Sophomore Jakob Campbell, who placed third at 106 pounds, having gone 43-11 in the regular season. Junior Lucas Miller placed fifth at 126 pound, having gone 42-12 in the regular season. Junior Gregg Harvey placed 6th at 182 pounds, and Junior Tommy Killoran placed 6th at 285 pounds.
