Students Compete at BCIU Arts Show
Boyertown students had an outstanding performance at the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) Art Exhibit at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts last week.
Mrs. Kathryn Weber, an art teacher at BASH, said in an email that she “speaks for all of the art teachers in the art department in saying that we are all very proud of our students!”
The GoggleWorks is a community art and cultural center that includes galleries, a darkroom, glass blowing studios, classrooms, and 26 offices for local community art and culture organization. The BCIU has sponsored the annual art show there featuring works of many Berks County area high school students since 1981. Award-winning BASH students include:
• Becca Lane – 2nd in Charcoal Drawings
• Savannah Moore – 2nd in Mixed Media Design •
Jordan Moyer – Honorable Mention in Mixed Media Design •
Julia Rocereta – Honorable Mention in Colored Pencil
•Danielle Lelko – 1st in Loom Fibers, Wib Lautner Reading-Berks Artist Guild of Craftsman Award for Best Traditional Work
• Devon Stackonis – 3rd in Clay Sculpture, 1st in Basketry, Honorable Mention for second Basketry entry
• Kayla Beltempo – 2nd in Wheel-Thrown Pottery
