It’s hard to believe that Christmas is less then 10 days away! Boyertown schools will have a half day this Friday, December 20th, and will remain on break until school starts back up again on Thursday, January 2nd. This long awaited break from school has BASH students and staff excited. While it is exciting to finally get much deserved rest, there are many fun local events that should be on your radar, come winter break.
This Friday, December 20th, BASH will be holding it’s annual live day celebration on TV News. This will be the conclusion of Wish Week, which is this week, Monday December 16th through Friday December 24th.
Student Diversity Union (SDU) is hosting a “Cultural Cinematic Experience” this Friday, December 20th. There will be two movies played during 2 sessions. Session 1, which will he held from period 1-2, will have Disney’s “Moana” and session 2 will feature Disney’s “Mulan.” SDU says, “Discover diverse cultural stories through two amazing films: Disney’s Moana and Disney’s Mulan. Each movie offers a unique perspective on cultural traditions, backgrounds, and social dynamics. You can attend one movie session or both – it’s up to you!”
BASH students are spending their time off from school doing a plethora of things. They’re mostly planning on spending time with family and sleeping. Victoria Munoz, a senior here at BASH, said that “I will be spending time with family and working at Old Navy.” AJ Gregory, a sophomore here at BASH, said, “I’m going to spend 90% of my time sleeping”
If you’re looking to see any shows in the Philadelphia area, there are a couple of options. “It’s a Wonderful Life” is available to be seen until January 3rd. Tickets are on sale for $40.00 a person and can be purchased here. Get them now, seats are limited.
Another play in the Philadelphia area is “ELF, The Broadway Musical.” The play is about “Buddy, who mistakenly crawled into Santa’s bag as a baby and was raised as an elf! Buddy is unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth” Tickets can be purchased here , and shows will continue until December 29th.
Another fun thing happening nearby is the Dash and Discover, which will be held in Douglassville. The description of the event says, “You and your teammates work together to solve riddles and answer trivia questions on this not-to-be-missed scavenger hunt.” Tickets are on sale for 15 dollars and the scavenger hunt takes around 2 hours to complete. There is no specific time to show up, it is come and go as you please. It is currently ongoing now through the end of December. It is important to note that you must download the “Roam” app on your phone to participate in this. It will guide participants through the challenges of the scavenger hunt.
