Winter bookshelf: 5 books to read over break

Here's what English teachers recommend during winter break!

December 19, 2019

This winter break is a long one, counting in at a whopping thirteen days. What could be better than cozying up with a good book, warm blanket, and a steaming mug of hot chocolate while the bitter winter wind beats at the window?

This year, the Cub asked English teachers what books they recommend students to read over break! In the following selections, you may find books about murder, identity and hope, dystopia, and superstition. Lose yourself in a good book this break!

For more book recommendations, check out the student-run writing blog, Literature Overload, by senior Madina Mavlonova.
