The view of a total solar eclipse

On Monday, April 8, there is going to be a total solar eclipse travelling through North America. During the solar eclipse, the moon will pass directly between the earth and the sun, shadowing the sun’s light, leaving the sky dark for nearly four minutes in the afternoon. The partial eclipse will begin around 2:00 P.M., and the total eclipse will be able to be seen at about 3:15 P.M. The viewing of the total eclipse will conclude at about 3:20 P.M., and finally, there will be a partial eclipse from then until about 4:30 P.M.

This is an amazing event for people to view since there hasn’t been a total solar eclipse over Pennsylvania since 1806. If one wanted to view this amazing astronomical event, however, they must take precautions. If someone looked at the eclipse without a pair of solar viewing glasses, severe eye damage or even blindness would occur. So, if you want to view the solar eclipse, be sure to take the necessary precautions!
