Lisa Marie Presley passes at 54

At the age of 54 Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley died on January 12, 2023.

Lisa Marie had been hospitalized earlier that day, LA County Fire Department spokesperson Kaitlyn Aldana said in an interview with CNN, “Emergency responders were dispatched to a call in the 5000 block of Normandy Dr in Agoura Hills, California, at 10:37 am local time for a cardiac arrest.”

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement Thursday evening. “She was the most passionate, strong,  and loving woman I have ever known.”

Lisa Marie’s ex-husband, Michael Lockwood is deeply mourning the death of his ex-wife with the twin daughters he and Lisa Marie had together during their marriage. 

Michael was too distraught to release a statement but nonetheless wanted to say something so he had his lawyer, Joe Yanny talk to Entertainment tonight. Joe told them, “Michael’s world has been turned on its ear. He had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her.”

Lisa’s final public appearance was on Tuesday at the Golden Globe Awards with her mother Priscilla at her side supporting Austin Butler, who won an award for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture for his performance depicting her father in the 2022 musical drama Elvis.

Butler used his acceptance speech to thank Lisa Marie Presley and her mother Priscilla, who were sitting together with his sister, Ashley. 

Graceland made a statement: “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love, and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
