’21-’22 TSA team members participate in 2022 TSA National Conference
As featured in “Lets Talk Tuesday”
This past summer Mr. Pennington and fifteen 11th and 12th grade TSA students went all the way to Dallas, Texas, to compete in the 2022 National Conference. This conference was a competition against other students from the United States but also alongside other countries like Turkey and Japan.
This conference consisted of 50 competitions, and our Boyertown students competed in 20 of them! The trip was a 26-hour drive to and from Dallas; resulting in a seven-day trip. Throughout these seven days, the students got to experience more than just the competition. They got to see Biehl St. of Memphis, go to many different restaurants, see Jazz and Blues musicians, and so much more.
Mr. Pennington even said, “In Fort Worth, TX, we went to a professional bull riding event that was live on ESPN at the Fort Worth Stockyards. It was very cool.” Once it was time for the competition, the 15 students dropped off their projects and waited for the judges to review theirs, along with 8000 other worldwide students. This was a big year for these kids because it was the first in-person conference in three years due to covid; therefore, most of the students were getting their first time experience even though they’ve been in TSA since they were freshmen. They also had the PA State TSA representative on their team, now graduated Madison Martin. This is a huge role considering she was in charge of the entire state of Pennsylvania for her first in-person national conference.
We are all very excited about this big win for TSA- be sure to congratulate Mr. Pennington or any of the kids if you get a chance!
