In the Eyes of a Father
The past and present are completely different.
Sometimes the past was perilous, sometimes the present is deadly.
In my perspective, I do not like to choose between the two.
The past should stay where it is,
what I was is not what I am now.
In the past, I was known for something I do not mention anymore.
I also had someone to call mine.
But alas, all good things must come to an end.
In the present I have two wonderful gifts.
If I had to choose, I would choose to stay in the present.
Even though it is hard to be in the present
With its pointless court cases and pressure sitting gracefully on my shoulder,
waiting for me to fall into the dark,
I still have numerous reasons to stay in the present.
I am not alone here either,
I have others who are willing to help me deal with my struggles.
I play an important role in my children’s lives.
I want to be the best parent I can,
No matter what I am going through personally.
Living in the present has its ups and downs.
Most people feed off of being odious-
I would rather be the opposite.

There is no need to think of all the negative things that are present in your life,
just leave it in the past.
