Senior Sunrise took place on the softball field at BASH early Friday morning. BASH’s seniors arrived at 6:20 A.M on September 5th with blankets and were provided with hot chocolate and donuts upon arrival.
After a bad rainstorm the previous night, fog and clouds filled the air, so there wasn’t that much sun. That didn’t stop our seniors from showing up and having a good time. Stephen Dudas, a senior at BASH, stated, “It sucks that the sun wasn’t out, but it was still a fun experience to hang out with friends,”
Another student, Kolby Grim, added on, “The experience for me wasn’t mainly about seeing the sun, it was about spending time with all my friends and enjoying our final year together,”

Students apart of Yearbook Club and TV News were cycling around the field asking people if they wanted pictures. Also students were taking selfies with their friends or taking pictures of their friends on their phone and posting them on Instagram.
Senior Sunrise has been a tradition at BASH for a while now, but it’s not the only school that has this tradition. Another school, Abington Senior High, also had this event on their first day of school. According to 6ABC, “Tuesday was the first day of school for 9th graders and students in grades K through 6th grade in Abington School District. Last year, more than 8,400 kids were enrolled in the district. About 750 of those students are seniors at the high school. Hundreds of them showed up for the Senior Sunrise tradition.”
Overall, Senior Sunrise is a fantastic event that all underclassmen should attend when they have the chance. Stephen stated, “The event is a great experience and something everyone should try to attend. It will probably be even better than ours considering there will actually be sun.”
For everyone who will eventually be a senior, mark senior sunrise on the calendar for the future and get excited to attend it senior year! For our seniors that attended senior sunrise, enjoy the rest of your school year!
