On November 15 2024 one of the most recognizable and influential bands of the 21st century released their first original body of work for the first time in 7 years. Linkin Park has been a household name in the industry since their breakout debut album in 2000 “Hybrid Theory” which is certified diamond across the world.
This new body of work titled “From Zero” as a reference to the band’s original name “Xero” was revealed to the public during a live show/ livestream on September 4 along with new lead singer “Emily Armstrong” who along with new drummer “Collin Brittain” became members of the band replacing former front man and drummer “Chester Bennington” and “Rob Bourdon” respectively
This being Linkin Park’s first new body of work in 7 years following the passing of former front man Chester Bennington, many fans both new and old had high expectations for the 11 songs on the album. The lead single “The Emptiness Machine” was mostly received positively by fans as it harked back to the original sound found on the debut and sophomore albums.
From Zero consists of 11 tracks the whole album running for just over half an hour making it a very quick listen, the songs while mostly good fell like they lack some originality and some of them feel derivative of past material from the band. Such as the song “Cut the Bridge” which sounds close to popular hit from the band’s third album “Bleed It Out”
Overall the album is a solid return to form for the six musicians. Some of the standout tracks include “Heavy Is the Crown,” “Over Each Other” and the final song on the record “Good Things Go”

Logan Dice, a fan of the band since 2023 said that, “Emily was a good addition to the band bringing their own unique spin on the bands formula, and with her inclusion I’m really excited to see what she does with them in the future.”
