Boyertown to continue remote learning through December 11th
After Thanksgiving break, it has come to the district’s attention that many more COVID-19 cases and possible exposures are starting to pop up again. Due to people visiting family members from all over and gathering to celebrate the holidays, the numbers of positive cases and possible exposures has gone up.
According to a letter sent to district staff and families from Superintendent Torchia, a staff member in the high school has contracted the virus and was last in the building right before break on November 25th. Along with this, the district has been notified of approximately twenty possible exposures among students and staff as well.
With this, the Boyertown Area School District doesn’t want to take any risks as the cases continue to rise, and have made the cautious decision to further the remote learning for another week.
Boyertown will continue to act accordingly when it comes to making decisions as far as school closures and in-person learning in order to keep the health and safety of the staff and students as a top priority in compliance with guidelines set by the PA Department of Health.
