On the 3rd of March 2025 the annual military inspection, took place. The inspection took place from first period to the middle of fourth period for students, however some of the staff worked all day.
The inspection consisted of two parts, during the first the NJROTC members were to stand at attention, while the inspection officer, Lieutenant Teresa Hicks, went and checked out each student inspecting them and giving them a grade ranging from an “Unsatisfactory” one out of five, to an “Outstanding” five out of five.
For the second part the NJROTC members participated in a ceremony where the members of NJROTC were given awards for their accomplishments, had to preform a drill instruction, and finished with a pass in review demonstration.
The school overall received a grade of outstanding, with BASH itself having been deemed to have one of the top NJROTC programs in the entire North Eastern Area. This continues the trend of BASH having one of the most well regarded programs across the state and North Eastern Area.
Jason DiMarzio, a Junior at BASH and a member of NJROTC who received an “Excellent” for his grade, had this to say about his experience during the Inspection process. “I thought [Lieutenant] Teresa Hicks handled the process well and efficiently, making the process super smooth.”
This tradition has gone on for many years at Bash and this is the first year its being done with new director, Commander Kruppa ,and his assistant, Gunnery Sergeant Bolton. Commander Kruppa became the director after the former director, Commander Haymon, left BASH at the end of the last year.
