Covid numbers break records; Not good ones
This Monday, Jan 3, 2022, Covid numbers have hit a high in the US; reporting more than 1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19. Due to the new omicron variant continuing to rise, numbers have nearly doubled the last US peak, and has no signs of slowing down.
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 has as well nearly doubled in the past week. The reported number of patients has now exceeded 100,000; which is marked as the highest number reached in a year. This surge has resulted in cancellations of events, flights, and even schools shutting down… again.
As of January 4th, 7,799 cases have been reported, just in Berks County alone. In Pennsylvania, we have spiked a new average of almost 22,000 cases.
