Future Millionaires Pitch Products at Competition
A group of students presented innovative product ideas Shark Tank style at a business competition yesterday.
The Future Millionaires Club attended the Husky Dog Pound at Bloomsburg University, a business concept competition similar to the reality television show Shark Tank, where entrepreneurs present their ideas to successful business people to try to get them to buy into their company.
The club had two teams participate who presented new invention ideas. Angelica Le pitched an idea for a type of GPS mapping app for use in malls. The “LookOut” app features maps and directions for malls and shopping centers, and even offers info on sales and promotions.
“It’s an easy way to navigate if customers are in a rush,” Angelica said. “They would basically have the mall within their fingertips.”
Ryan Desmornes and Izzy Lodge pitched a device that allows people to heat up the temperature of their shower remotely using their phone’s wifi.
Neither team placed but it was a great experience for the students, said club member Senior Andrew Stauffer, who went on the trip.
