One of the senior spotlights that was memorable was Sawyer Antoni’s. His senior spotlight featured many pieces of art with Garfield. “Garfield is important to me,” explained Sawyer. I draw him everywhere. If you see Garfield on a whiteboard, then it’s most likely me who drew it.” Sawyer also talked about his still-life art piece, “This is a still-life I did in my Junior year in intermediate drawing. Every piece on this is something important to me, like a specific item. It’s like a self-portrait without actually featuring myself.”

Another senior spotlight was the Cub’s very own David Campos Barragan. He also talked about his still-life art piece. “It’s very difficult to draw realism for me. Looking back on it now, I can see some mistakes that I made that I wish I could remove. For the time being, I think it was pretty good since I wasted a lot of open campuses working on this.”
On David’s senior spotlight, there was a place where people were able to doodle on his wall. There were many different doodles on his wall which shows some of the the creativity people have. “It was kind of circumstantial.,” said David, “There was nobody next to me using the wall and I didn’t have a name tag to I put my name there and I realized it was empty. So, I just had people doodle all over the wall.”
The Accent writing club had a table where they were handing out copies of their yearly magazine. The magazine includes many types of creative writing and art, including short stories, poetry, drama, drawings, and digital art.
Congratulations to the art department for doing a great job putting this together. We wish all the seniors good luck in their future endeavors. Their talent will be missed!
