Boyertown is home to many traditions, and one is in season now: Senior Assassin. This tradition started with the class of 2022 and is run by the Instagram account Barstoolbtown. Over the weeks from Easter Day to whenever someone wins students participating will get their target from the account, Bartstoolbtown, in their direct messages.
Students will get eliminated if they get hit by their target. Eliminations can only happen outside of school hours. It doesn’t matter where they are if you are trying to eliminate your target; it can be anywhere from in their house to in their car, in a restaurant or at their job. The possibilities are endless. Senior Assassin did not originate in Boyertown though. Some high schools, like Reading Memorial High School, have been doing it since 2014.
Gage Gehris, a participant who was eliminated, gave his experience firsthand. “At around 8:30, I left my house for the Boyertown baseball game. I was there with my friends, Julie Rodriguez and Emmy Pagan, for about an hour before we left for Ava Ainge’s house. We get there, and I start hiding behind a car while my friends record from the balcony of Ava Gaisbauer’s house. Once Ava’s car pulled up, I was ready to shoot my water [blaster], but Brady McDonald got out of the car instead and was recording. I then got up and walked towards the car, then the person who was hunting me, Brodie Reynolds, got out of the car, and we started shooting each other. After two tries of trying to get each other, Brodie finally catches up to me and eliminates me. Then, I came to learn that Ava was in her house the entire time after she snuck in through the back. She was dropped off by Brady after he Silly Stringed Julie’s car.”
Senior Assassin is a great way to put people’s minds to the test and think of great ways to eliminate their targets. It is also a fun way to get all of the seniors together and participate in something fun during their final time at Boyertown. We can’t wait to see who the final victor is in this game of wits, strategy, and fun.
