This Monday, April 22nd, is Earth Day! Earth day is a day for celebrating the natural world and its continued preservation. As such many different events are being held in and around Boyertown to help show support for the environment.
Upper Merion Earth Day Celebration
On the 20th of April, Upper Merion Township will be holding an event from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the township park. The event will include food and drinks, vendors, and an earth day award ceremony. The event is dog friendly and will be held near the parks lower parking lot.
Colebrookedale Railroad Mudball Express
On the 21st of April, the Colebrookdale railroad will offer a special earth day themed menu. The riders will learn both about local history and ecological restoration, passengers will also through mudballs with wildflower seeds in them from the train. The journey will last around two hours and move through a “scenic landscape rich with America’s iron-industry heritage,” and begins at 2:30.
Elmwood Park Zoo
At the Elmwood park zoo on Saturday April 20th and Sunday April 21st, the annual celebration Party for the Planet will be active all day long. The event will emphasize the importance of conservation and the environment. Guests will be able to enjoy demonstrations and education stations featuring animals, recycling, sustainable living and more. The event comes free with admission to the zoo, a list of scheduled events at the zoo.
Miller Park Clean Up And Yoga
If you want to help the environment for earth day, one way you can is the April 20th Miller park earth day event. Participants will start at 8 A.M. and will help with clean up, do mulching, or plant flowers until 9:30. For those interested for the next hour after the clean up, all levels of yoga will be held with Kristin, owner of Zia Yoga & Wellness, leading. All event details can be found here.
BASH Earth Day Walk
On Monday April 22nd BASH will have an earth day walk out at the track. The walk will consist of stands set up by various clubs with the purpose of informing students about the natural world and how we can protect and preserve it.
Doing Your Part
The Earth is all of our homes, by helping educate people about what we can do to protect the Earth we are securing our own futures as well as our posterity. Whether you participate in any of these events or simply try to do more good for the Earth we should all celebrate Earth Day in some way or another.
