My Christian identity affects my life with my viewpoints and actions. When you are a Christian, your actions reflect Jesus Christ to others. Being in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) helps me reflect Jesus in school where many people don’t understand Christianity or the Gospel. I am the president of FCA and a leader of my youth group. These help me impact others for Jesus because it’s a way to bring Christians together to grow in their faith and worship God. Being a Christian shapes my life because I don’t waste my free time for selfish reasons, but I dedicate my time for service to others of need so I can reflect Jesus. Matthew 28: 19-20 says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This motivates me to reach out to others and show God’s love in school. I really learned of God’s love and his power when I had major back surgery in my sophomore year. I had 2 rods and 20 screws inserted in my back to correct my curved spine from scoliosis. I realized I couldn’t recover alone and I needed God to help me. God showed me love by not letting me go through my experience alone.
