Hidden Gem: School Store Keeps Clientele Despite Less Visible Location

November 8, 2016

Despite construction, the school store is thriving this year.

The store has moved to a new location in the old choral room until construction is over. Staffed by student interns, and the store is busier than ever:

“There are more students than last year,” Senior Ryan Zern says.
The store has been around for a long time and is run by Seniors Zern and Dino Charitos, with Accounting Teacher Mrs. Ciara Talarico as its adviser. It is open periods 1, 2, flex, and 3.

Students do everything it would take to run a regular business – from determining the pricing, selling the goods, then tallying the books each day.

They also designed the layout of the store and shop for the products. They practice “retail sales and selling our product to people,” Ryan says.

The school store sells a lot of things, but the coffee seems to be the best selling product.

“The coffee is better than most of the coffee around town,” Sophomore Anthony Sands says.
