Humans of BASH 2021-22
The Humans of BASH is modeled after the Humans of New York photo project. Our aim is to give a glimpse into the everyday lives of BASH students and the spirit of the school.
"The school year is almost over and I'm excited for summer to start. I don't really have any plans yet but I know that i'm ready for the warm weather. The weather lately has been terrible so I definitely need some warm days."
"This school year is going really fast. I feel like we have only been here for a couple months and now we are two months away from being done. At the beginning of this year I thought it would end up how the last school year did but it ended up feeling a little more normal."
"I like the fact that we don't have to wear masks anymore, I never liked them."
"I like the fact that the masks are optional now. It feels a little more normal."
"We feel like the change in masks doesn't change anything for us. If you want to wear it, wear it, if you don't and you feel like you aren't harming anyone, don't wear it."
"This year I am graduating and I feel like even though there is a lot going on in the world with Covid and other things, I think that I will still miss the school experience. I definitely miss how school used to be and not having to guess what people look like without a mask on."
"I feel like some people are starting to forget that Covid exists. I think our school is getting overwhelmed by how many different opinions there is on masks, and although it's still hard to participate in sports and hear our teachers talking, I think the school is doing the best they can."
"I feel like one thing everyone looks forward to in the school day is lunch, not only because of the food, but you can sit with your friends, take a break from doing work, and relax for a second. I personally do not like the food from the school though."
"One thing that I don't like about this school year is how much masks impact sports. It gets really hard to work within your sport with something covering your mouth and nose."
"During my free period, I normally do my homework and it's a good amount of time to do it. I usually get it all done and it definitely helps my grade a lot."
"I do not think the money being spent at Boyertown is going towards a good cause. I feel like it needs to go towards personal education and children with special needs definitely need more attention at this school."
"I feel like the pep rally being virtual takes away a lot of opportunities for the underclassmen because the freshman never even got to experience a pep rally at the high school. I feel like they won't get the same amount of excitement and experience compared to our normal pep rallies here at BASH."
"I do not think it is fair to have football games, but not have dances. It is more people than what a dance would be in one area. And if the case is that it is outdoors, why can't we have dances outdoors?"
"I am very disappointed about the dances being cancelled, but I do understand. I feel really bad for the seniors though. I know a lot of schools are doing their dances outside, so I am not sure why we can't. At least class of 22 is getting more than class of 21."
"I do not like the school lunches. It's like I know what it is supposed to taste like, but it just doesn't taste right. I still eat them, but they just taste really off."
