Boys Lacrosse Loses in Semi-Finals

The Boyertown Bears were dealt a loss in the final four against No. 1 seed Spring-Ford 11-6 on Tuesday.

The Bears kept the fight going as they battled the dominant rams, in the hopes of chasing a PAC-10 title, but fell just short in the semi-final round.

Boyertown managed to outscore Spring-Ford 6-3 in the final two quarters of the game, flashing their potential to succeed against high-caliber teams.

Sophomore Brady McFalls had the team on his back scoring 3 of our 6 goals in the final half of the game.

Senior Goalie Mark Fredrickson had a 50-percent save percentage for the game saving 11 out of 22 shots on net.

The Bears then ran into districts with a cold streak only to come up short on a 7-6 loss to Central Bucks West.

Due to unfamiliar circumstances two seniors, including the varsity goalie, did not play in the game, which most likely had an effect on the outcome.
Brewer Johnson led the team with two goals and an assist to try and propel the team to victory.

However, the opposing goalie Max Dunar was able to shut down a final Boyertown push and wrap-up the season for Boyertown.

A large senior class leaves Boyertown, giving the reigns to underclassmen players such as Mason Turner, Brady McFalls, and Brewer Johnson.

The team being riddled with talent in the upcoming season are looking to bounce back from their unsuspecting loss and fight for a PAC-10 championship.

Senior Goalie and Kutztown Commit Mark Fredericksen said, “Unfortunately the season came to an abrupt end, but we have a strong group of underclassmen coming up.”
