Construction Update

Construction+Update

Here is the latest update concerning the construction and renovation of the high school, from BASH principal Dr. Brett Cooper:

The general contractors continue to work on the New CUB Gym on the North site of the building and have started their work (new Art wing) on the North West side of the building.

The general contractor will be constructing wood partitions around the rear exit doors inside of the existing Bear Gym in the upcoming weeks. These wood partitions will be approximately 16 feet high and encompass most of the back wall. These partitions are to ensure safety for staff and students as the new gymnasium addition takes place. The removal of the wall pads will be coordinated directly with BASH maintenance staff and there is no need for removal at this time. It is anticipated that these partitions will be removed by the start of the 2015 fall semester.

The general contractors have started working in the exterior covered walkways from the 500/600’s stairwell door to the courtyard to the Commons Lobby courtyard door. Once the general contractors have completed the exterior covered walkways from the 500/600’s stairwell door to the courtyard to the Commons Lobby courtyard door. There will be access to the Cub Lobby Courtyard door in between. This will provide students and staff access to the Cub Gym either through the boy’s team room at the courtyard entrance or the through the Commons Lobby. This temporary configuration will make the existing ‘painted’ corridor 507 unavailable to student and staff traffic. A specific date/time will be forthcoming.

The general contractors began to work on the NAUD roof starting 5-5-15.

The general contractors continue to work on MEP systems after school hours preparing for extensive MEP work over the 2015 summer break

The general contractors and BASH maintenance have completed the relocation of the bank of 72 lockers currently located in the Cub Gym Lobby. Compromised students have been assigned new locker locations.[slideshow_deploy id=’2706′]
